TDW Favourites: GOOD Soap

Big plant soap

And it truly is! Quality soap, I mean. About a month ago, I was bopping around Whole Foods and ran across a massive, 360 degree, multi-tiered display of soap bars. There were many different scents to delight the nose, but I absolutely fell into the best kind of olfactory trance when I breathed-in Alaffia’s GOOD Soap in lavender. In fact, I was so impressed that it was both all natural and had zero packaging, I immediately bought myself three bars.

Many weeks later? I have to say, not only am I still loving the lavender scent, but also how it lathers and feels on my skin. Alaffia GOOD soap is made with “good” ingredients too, including Certified Fair Trade shea butter and Certified Fair Trade coconut oil — the quality of its formulation shows with every use. The 411

First Impression:  Intoxicating scent and understated, minimalist presentation. The product speaks for itself.

In Three Words:  Heavenly. Substantial. Conscientious.

Cost:  3 bars for $6 (Canadian), plus taxes.

Best Feature:  Super moisturizing. Incredibly kind to sensitive skin — no tightness, drying or irritation.

Excited About:  Gift giving season! It’s on my “Buy for Everyone” list.

Something Unexpected:  The scent hasn’t faded at all with use. It’s just as lovely now as it was when new.

Value for Money:  Really sizeable bar. Finding that it’s longer lasting than many conventional brands — and doesn’t splinter or turn mushy with use. It’s also half the price of many beauty bars marketed specifically to those with sensitive skin.
