Pumpkin Pie Spice

Autumn is almost upon us — hands down my favourite time of year! With the changing of the leaves comes the pumpkin harvest AND much potential for delicious baked goodies! Rather than purchase it pre-mixed, why not make your own Pumpkin Pie Spice this year?

Pumpkin Pie Spice


  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp allspice
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp ground mace (I didn’t include this spice in my mix, but it is traditionally part of the recipe)

DIRECTIONS: Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and mix thoroughly. Makes roughly 2 1/3 tbsp (with all ingredients added). Recipe doubles well. Store in a Mason jar for up to one year.



Kitchen Notes
  • It’s way faster to make your own at home than run off to the grocery store — and pay five times the price!
  • Doubled the ingredients and excluded the mace — not a spice that you tend to see in many recipes, so I didn’t have it on hand. Doesn’t affect the taste/aroma in our humble opinion.
